Information for Tourists Visiting Uparkot -Fort

At Uparkot Fort, visitors are permitted to bring water bottles inside the monument. Alongside, each entry ticket includes a half-liter water bottle and a Tourist Guide Map of Uparkot Fort. These amenities are provided for a comfortable and informative exploration of the fort.Uparkot Fort also ensures accessibility with facilities like Wheelchair assistance for differently-abled individuals. For any medical needs, a First Aid Box is available on-site.

Uparkot fort is an important part of our heritage. This monument has been protected under the Gujarat Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites Remains Act (Gujarat Act No. 25 of 1965). There is a complete ban on conducting any kind of filth and throwing of plastic in this campus. Any person found damaging, destroying or removing any part of this space can be fined Rs. 5,000 or imprisonment for three months or both.

 Climbing on any wall or structure, entering into any secured area, entering into forest cover, entering water body zone or any such dangerous activity is prohibited.

 Any kind of intoxicating material like pan, pan masala, guthkha, cigarette, drugs, etc are banned from taking inside the premises.

 The fort needs to be vacated by sunset / closing time. Please co-operate and start moving out an hour prior to sunset / closing time. As an exception, Light & Sound Show patrons can stay in designated area as required after purchasing the ticket.

 Staying in light & sound show exhibition area after 5pm is allowed only to the ticket holders of light and sound show.

 The tourists are expected to take care of their belongings. Management is not responsible for any kind of loss or damage to any belongings including the vehicles parked in the premises.

 Entering or roaming in the premises without entry pass (ticket) is prohibited.

 Throwing litter or any kind of unhygienic activity is prohibited in the premises. To dispose the litter tourists must use the dustbins properly.

 Drinking water and toilet facilities are available free of cost at various locations inside the premises. Please use these facilities responsibly and maintain cleanliness.

 Vehiclesare not allowed beyond the parking zone.

 Cycles hired from inside the premises are allowed on designated cycle path only. Kindly ensure to ride the cycle at a speed of less than 10km per hour.

 Outside food and beverages are not allowed inside the premises.

 Photography through mobile phone is allowed. For photography / videography through any other device, please obtain relevant permit on chargeable basis.

 Cutting of cake, bursting balloons or any such party activity is not allowed in the premises.

 Visitors are advised to act and behave as per their health conditions.

 Use of laser, speaker or any such activity that causes disturbance is prohibited.

 Kindly ensure to follow all the guidelines mentioned in signages and others communicated by staffs. Such guidelines are for the benefit and safety of visitors.

 Pets are not allowed in the premises.

 Flora & Fauna are found inside the premises including reptiles. Please be careful and do not disturb them.

 Please be careful about gradient (slope) and uneven roads and pathways. Be careful about slippery floor as well.

 These items are not allowed to be carried inside the fort premises: Eatables, Toys, Sports material, intoxicants, flags, banners, pamphlets, flowers, drone camera, tripod stand, laptop, microphone, headphone, explosives, weapons, sketch pen or any other colouring material, tools, religious books, torch, laser and any other material as directed by management or Govt. authorities.

 Violation of any such guidelines would attract monetary penalty, ban from entering / using premises &/or legal action.

 Entry to Buddhist Caves is separately chargeable as per norms set by ASI (Archaeological Survey Of India).
